Summer Reading

Growing up, my school didn't require a summer reading list. Even if they did, I would have ignored it completely. I have always been a believer that it is a waste of good sunshine to be indoors when the sun is hanging in the sky.

I usually have a mile high stack of books; this summer is no different. It's been about a plethora of subjects. This is mostly the books that Amazon sent me to review prior to their release dates and represents only a portion of what's on my night stand -- plus long list of titles on my Kindle (lots of general frivoulousness). Palace Circle and The Slippery Year have been among my favorites. And I will admit to my fair share of Twi-obsessing.

What's been on your list this summer?

Knitting a Bit

I just realized that I haven't been photographing projects. In the last two weeks, I finished a birthday scarf and 45 knitting bags... no photos, so no posts!
I did manage to photograph this shawl before gifting it.

Just a basic pattern - satisfyingly simple & quick! Yarn: one skein Mountain Colors worsted in Red Tail Hawk.
May add a ruffle of mohair to edge.
Time to complete: 7 days of short time blocks
note: really stretched out during blocking!

New Website

I really hate to take the time to work up a new website, but I'm doing just that for Silver Moon Studio. It's a prefab hosting site, so it was quick and fairly painless. I have been needing to coordinate a site with business cards for my project bags. With the upcoming sock summit, I just had to get on the ball. Wish that I could make it mesh with my blog... maybe one day when I have lots of time.

Busy

I've been ignoring my blogging duties! It's really hard for me to spend time in front of a screen in the summer -- there are just so many other things to do!  However, my "to-do list" has grown with trying to add a new shop to carry my project bags.  Simply Sock Yarn will have my project bags at the Sock Summit in Portland, OR! Woo-hoo! (for non-knitters: the Sock Summit is a convention for people who knit socks- think ComiCon- but with MUCH cooler people).   I'd love to go myself, but it's just not a good time. Allison has been great trying to  work out fabric combinations.  I hope they sell well for her! Hopefully after Sock Summit, she can carry the bags in her on line shop, Simply Sock Yarn.
